Detectives in Norwich have charged a 37-year-old man with robbery and possession of a knife following an incident in the city yesterday (Tuesday 30 January 2018).

Rassel Ahmed, of Rider Haggard Road, Norwich, is accused of robbing a woman in her 90s in St Stephens Gate, off Wessex Street, shortly before 4.30pm.

Ahmed has been remanded in police custody to appear before Norwich Magistrates Court tomorrow, Thursday 1 February 2018.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident and in particular those people who stopped to assist the victim.
