One of Ireland’s best-loved musical performers is set to make his Norwich Theatre Royal return.
Daniel O’Donnell will share some of his biggest hits as he makes a return to the city by public demand on April 30 and May 1.
He has enjoyed a remarkable career and is one of the few artists to score a hit in the UK album charts annually since 1988 outshining the likes of Michael Jackson and Madonna.
Thirty two of these have hit the Top 30 as well as being placed regularly in the Billboard World Music Chart. Daniel has also appeared on Top Of The Pops, been celebrated on This Is Your Life, and received multiple entertainment awards.
The entertainment favourite also won prime-time UK TV exposure when he competed in the 2015 series of Strictly Come Dancing. Daniel said: “When the email came in offering me the place, I just couldn’t believe it. As luck or fate would have it, it was the only year I could have done it as I am normally performing elsewhere at that time of the year.
“I was absolutely thrilled to get the opportunity. It is such a huge show and the BBC have their pick of people so I am flattered that they asked me. It took me out of my comfort zone but I had a lot of fun doing it.”
Daniel remains also incredibly busy touring on both sides of the Irish Sea and across the Atlantic, and enjoys a fiercely loyal fan-base.
John Bultitude, of Norwich Theatre Royal, said: “There is no doubt that Daniel’s mix of music, songs and laughter remains hugely popular. His devoted fan-base across the area are sure to be delighted by his return to the city and we are pleased to welcome back a hugely-popular and versatile entertainer.”
