Police investigating the death of a man in Whitlingham can confirm it is not being treated as suspicious.
Officers were called at approximately 8.43am on Saturday (20 March 2021) after receiving a report that a body had been seen along the river bank. Part of Whitlingham Lane and the walkway around the lake were temporarily closed while emergency services attended the scene.

A Home Office post mortem examination was held on Tuesday (23 March 2021). A cause of death was not established and further tests are being carried out. The death remains unexplained but is not being treated as suspicious. A file will now be prepared for the coroner.

Pending formal coroner’s inquest proceedings, police have provisionally identified the body of the deceased as James Brownlee, age 25, from Norwich. His family has been informed.
