A Border Terrier called Arthur who was missing from his home in Castle Acre last week has been found.
The two-and-a-half year-old dog, who police believe was stolen from the Stocks Green area of the High Street sometime between 9.50am and 10am on Sunday 29 November, was found at about 8.45am a week later on Saturday 5 December 2020.

A gardener heard a whimpering sound coming from behind the shed of a property in the same village, and discovered it was Arthur.

PC Jamie Willetts said: “The gardener and the dog’s owner had to lift several heavy items out of the way to retrieve Arthur, who appeared to be very pleased to be reunited with his owner. It doesn’t appear that he had been there very long: he was well fed and the tag on his collar was missing although his collar was still intact.

“I know thousands of people have shared our post on social media – even from as far away as Scotland – and I thank them and the media for all their assistance. Some stories do have happy endings, and this is one family who can look forward to Christmas knowing their much-loved pet is safe and back where he belongs.”
