-The ‘enchanting’ experience will take place in the grounds of Taverham Hall
-The attraction is Norfolk’s only drive-thru Christmas experience
-As well as Santa, visitors will also see dancing elves, reindeer, toy workshop, chefs hot chocolate factory and Mrs Claus’ kitchen!

Santa will return to Norwich this Christmas and this time he is Covid-secure. The Drive-Thru Santa’s Grotto is taking place in the ‘twinkly-woodland’ setting of Taverham Hall on the outskirts of Norwich.

When families arrive, they can drive through a freeway to Father Christmas passing illuminations and special effects including lasers and snow as well as seeing a host of festive characters.

They can see Santa and his little helpers, drop off their all-important letter, or just wave hello.

Due to Government guidelines, he will not be able to hand over physical presents to the children. Instead everyone will get a wrapped cookie and a hot chocolate they can enjoy in their car.

The event is being organised by promotion company We Make Events, who are producing several events with the same concept around the country, and have experience of producing Christmas events including The Polar Express Train Ride which operates around the country.

A spokesman for the company said “We’re really excited to be bringing our Drive-Thru Santa’s Grotto to Norwich. It’s going to be a magical experience for the whole family, even those without children’.

‘We announced the event earlier this week and the response from the people of Norfolk has been phenomenal. There is still time to register for discounted early bird tickets on our website NorwichChristmas.com ahead of the main on sale date this Saturday’.

The event is also great news for local professional performers in the area, who are auditioning next week to take part. The event will feature 30 live actors each night, with a further 15 staff being taken on for steward and security roles.

Drive Thru Santa’s Grotto runs from Friday 18th December to Christmas Eve at Taverham Hall. Ticket  prices start at £35 per car. Early-bird discounted tickets are available by registering at NorwichChristmas.com
