Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted in Norwich over the weekend.

It happened shortly before 7.30am on Saturday 9 June 2018, when the victim, a woman aged in her 70s, was walking along the path next to the river behind Aldi on Drayton Road.

She has been approached by a man who grabbed her hand whilst committing a lewd act.

The victim stated she will call the police and the man has walked away towards the city centre.

Enquiries led officers to arrest a man, aged in his 20s, and he was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
