A post mortem examination has confirmed a Norwich man murdered at the weekend died of a stab wound to the chest.
Police have today confirmed the identity of the man as 37 year old Steven Stannard, of Bowers Avenue in Norwich.

The Home Office post mortem examination found that Steven sustained multiple stab wounds to his body.

The investigation comes after officers were called to Bowers Avenue shortly after 2.30pm on Saturday 5 November 2016 following reports that a man needed medical assistance. Sadly Steven died at the scene as result of his injuries.

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with this incident and is currently being held in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Marie James, from the joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team, said: “I am still very keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed anything on that day or has any information relating to the incident. A seal remains in place at the property whilst officers continue their enquiries.
