A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Norwich.
Officers were called to an address in The Highfields shortly before 11pm on Saturday 15 February 2020 to reports that a woman in her 60s had been found dead.

Cornelius Martinus Josephus Van Der Ploeg, aged 63, of Oxmoor Avenue, Hadley, Telford, has subsequently been charged with one count of murder. He is due appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court from 10am today (Monday 17 February 2020).

Update:

Detectives are continuing to investigate the murder of a woman on Saturday evening (15 February 2020).

Officers were called to an address in Highfields, New Costessey, shortly before 11pm on Saturday 15 February 2020 to reports that a woman had been found dead. A Home Office post mortem examination is being carried out (Monday 17 February).

Pending formal Coroner’s inquest proceedings, police have provisionally identified the deceased as Cherith Van Der Ploeg, aged 60 years.

Cornelius Van Der Ploeg, aged 63, of Oxmoor Avenue, Hadley, Telford, who was arrested in connection with the incident, has subsequently been charged with murder. He appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court this morning (Monday 17 February 2020) and was remanded into custody.
