Police are warning drivers they face prosecution if they flout the rules and drive through the Catton Grove bus gate during restricted times.

The restriction operates from 7.30am to 9am from Monday to Friday to ensure school buses can pass safely along the busy residential route running in the direction of the city.

Drivers who ignore the restrictions face a £100 fine and three penalty points on their licence. Police recorded around 60 vehicles in a 30 minute period during a restricted time on Thursday September 26 and 70 vehicles in a 45 minute period during the morning of Wednesday October 2 using the bus gate. Drivers will be sent a Notice of Intended Prosecution in the post.
