Police can confirm the body of a man has been found in a river on the outskirts of Norwich today (Saturday 25 January 2020).

Officers were call to Church Lane in Eaton earlier today at about 4pm after a member of the public reported seeing a body in the River Yare.

Emergency services attended and the body of a man, believed to be in his 50s, was recovered.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and formal identification will take place in due course.

The family of missing Norwich man Carl Gooch, 58, have been informed.
