Recruiting new singers for site-specific choir performance piece – Tuesday 10th September 7.30pm Norwich
A Norfolk Choir is recruiting choir members for their next site-specific concert.
Procession of Souls #1 is a meditation on time; a procession of lives from birth, through life and into afterlife – one hand holding the past, the other, the future. This will be the first episode of a series of connected performances by The Voice Project Choir taking place over the next two years.
This piece will be performed at The Shoe Factory, St Mary’s Works in the heart of old industrial Norwich on Saturday 30th November 2019.
Voice Project Co-Director Sian Croose said ‘We’d like to welcome absolutely anyone over 16 with a desire to sing to join the choir. There are no auditions and all rehearsals are conducted in such a way that no previous experience of singing or music is required.’
There is a no-obligation taster session for anyone who thinks they may be interested in joining the choir at the Friends Meeting House Upper Goat Lane, Norwich NR2 1EW on Tuesday September 10th with rehearsals taking place on subsequent Tuesdays

The Voice Project is an award-winning choir based in Norfolk and were founded by joint artistic directors Sian Croose and Jonathan Baker in 2008. They have taken their unique vision of what a community choir can be to international jazz festivals in mainland Europe, appeared on prime time French TV, made a groundbreaking overnight choral sleepover for the Norfolk & Norwich and Brighton Festivals called the Arms of Sleep and had one of their London concerts broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Most recently, their piece I Reach Right Up to the Sun premiered at Houghton Hall Norfolk. The Voice Project Choir is now one of the best-known choirs in the East of England, having given many hundreds of singers the opportunity to take part in unique creative performances of high quality new vocal music. Jonathan & Sian also run vocal workshops designed to build confidence and encourage participants to explore a wide variety of uplifting and inspiring music.
