CCTV footage has been released of potential witnesses who could hold “significant information” about the rape of a woman in Thorpe St Andrew, Norwich.
Detectives investigating the attack on Yarmouth Road have released CCTV images and moving footage of people they are keen to trace who were walking in the area on the night.
The first image and footage shows a man wearing a baseball cap walking two dogs on a lead and holding what appears to be a Sainsbury’s carrier bag. He is walking in the direction of the city centre.
Two other images show what looks like a couple, walking and holding hands. They are pictured walking near to the fish and chip shop.
The incident happened between 9.45pm and 10pm on Yarmouth Road between the Rushcutters pub and near the junction of Thunder Lane.
Detective Inspector Neil Stewart, from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team, who is leading the enquiry, urged the potential witnesses in the images to come forward.
He said: “Examining CCTV has been a key line of enquiry from the outset and as a result of our enquiries, we have identified three witnesses who we are keen to speak with.
“I believe these people could hold significant information in relation to this attack and I would urge anyone who recognises themselves or someone they know, to come forward.
“The victim is continuing to come to terms with what has happened to her and is receiving specialist support.
“We are following a number of lines of enquiry and will carry out a thorough investigation in a bid to catch the person responsible.”
Anyone who recognises the people shown in the images is asked to contact the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team on 101, alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
