Landmark Norwich pub The Artichoke has been a popular and successful enterprise that has helped the NR3 postcode area of Norwich become the destination for lovers of good food and drink in the fine city.

Following the recent conviction of the previous owner the business has closed.

The Artichoke has now been bought by Huddersfield based lawyer Lisa Davis. Lisa will restart the pub business and plans to re-open the pub in Mid October.

Lisa says: ‘Many Norwich friends have told me how much they value the Artichoke pub. It is a landmark building that has become an enjoyable destination known for a warm welcome and a lively atmosphere. It has been well known for having a capable and friendly staff team who have helped it to become a successful business. I have met the staff to discuss how I could help them to achieve their ambition to make the Artichoke a vibrant part of the Norwich pub scene. I am also recruiting some of the most successful and experienced bar and pub operators in the Norwich area to support my aim to make this simply the best pub in Norwich’.

The Artichoke will continue to offer a diverse range of high quality drinks, with a renewed emphasis on first class real ales and craft beers and lagers. It will offer a range of cultural and food and drink related events and there will be some surprises!

The Artichoke will have a fresh new image but with a dedicated staff team in this beautiful building there will be a warm welcome for customers old and new.

Further information about the launch date and opening times will be released soon by the Artichoke Beer Company.
