Guest reviewer Callum O’Brien went to see Thriller Live:

“Thriller Live has brought a energetic vibe to the city of Norwich by creating a show that remembers and celebrates the legacy of the ‘King of Pop’ Michael Jackson.

The show consists of Michael’s well known and best selling singles such as Smooth Criminal, Beat it, Man in the Mirror and of course there are so many more.

The show flows fluidly going from Michael’s beginning with his brothers, forming the much loved Jackson Five and going on to show Michael’s career from there.

The choreography is second to none within the show. Each routine brings a modern version to each of Michael’s famous hits. However, it was still good to see the well known choreography being replicated. This happened to be my (and what also sounded like the audiences) favourite parts. When the song Beat It came on and I heard the guitar come into play all I could think of was the massive dance break in the middle of the song or even when Smooth Criminal came on you automatically think of the well choreographed fight scene or even the famous forward learn which was executed perfectly by the dancers.

However, you could not do a show about the brilliant Michael Jackson with out the talented vocals. The four main vocalists were out of this world. They showed us the passion that was put into every song, this was shown not only in their vocals but in their facial expressions aswell. I was lucky enough to meet Britt Quentin and Victoria Pasion during the day. You could feel the passion and see how humble they were to be performing the King of Pops music. They even gave the time to give me some advice on going into this profession.

The whole cast of Thriller Live were amazing but Sean Christopher who plays Michael, was the spitting image of Michael Jackson. This was from the looks to the way he danced. Every detail was sharp in every single move, it was like Michael Jackson was back on stage. I haven’t seen anyone like him before.

I really enjoyed my night watching Thriller Live, I got to hear the classics of Michael Jackson, listening to the songs that have inspired people around the world for years. If you want a night where you can have an enjoyable night out, bursting out into song for the whole evening then I urge you to go and watch Thriller Live. The final performance in Norwich is on the 18th of this month, so you haven’t got long. You will be missing out”.
