Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse and the Historic Environment Service mark Heritage Open Day

As part of the Heritage Open Days, Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse is pleased to open its doors for FREE on Sunday 10th September from 10am to 5pm.

Visitors can discover why Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse is one of the foremost visitor attractions in East Anglia, as they explore all that the 50 acre site has to offer. Enjoy a fascinating journey through the story of rural Norfolk with an historic workhouse and traditional farm. The museum galleries are a real treasure trove of household objects, fascinating tools and workhouse treasures from times gone by. Discover the enchanting gardens and the historic orchard, set in a timeless landscape, or let off steam in our thrilling woodland playground – there really is something for all everyone!
Meet local metal detectorists and discover more about the treasures found in Norfolk. Get creative in Art Attack! and make your own peg doll. Take a guided tour behind the scenes of the Norfolk Collections Centre. See a range of fascinating objects including the tusk of the West Runton Mammoth, a medieval chancel screen, and a 19th Century mustard stamping machine from Colman’s factory in Norwich.
