Chloe meets Thorpe St Andrew Sixth Form Students, for an interview with their newly created political magazine, The Speaker.

‘Why are you a Conservative?’, ‘What is the best part about your job?’ and ‘What does the average day of an MP look like?’- these, and many others were all questions put to Chloe Smith, Member of Parliament for Norwich North, when she was interviewed by new online political magazine, ‘The Speaker’.

‘The Speaker’ was created, and is run by a group of four A-Level Politics Students from Thorpe St Andrew High School, who approached Chloe seeking an opportunity to interview her. The website is designed by encourage the wider public to become more involved in political and issues relating to current affairs.

Chloe met with George Bowman, Henry Earl, Emily Oxbury and Nathan Shoesmith at The Forum in Norwich for a face-to-face interview, which will be published on https://www.speakerpolitcs.co.uk later this week. Chloe is also assisting the students in trying to organise an interview with The Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow.

Chloe comments: “As someone who was very interested in politics from a young age, it was encouraging to be contacted by The Speaker, and to get to known the passionate young people behind it. I have always encouraged young people to take part in political discussion, regardless of their opinion, and I would encourage the team behind The Speaker to keep doing what they are doing in seeking to engage their peers.”

George Bowman, Editor and CEO of The Speaker said: “This website is designed to be inclusive and accessible for all, trying to engage the wider public to become more involved in politics. We are all A-Level students studying Politics at Thorpe St Andrew School and Sixth Form, and feel a true passion and enthusiasm towards politics taking great interest in current events.”
