Police are continuing to investigate a fatal stabbing in Thorpe St Andrew, Norwich, yesterday (Friday 19 June 2020).

Officers were called to Yarmouth Road at about 12.45pm following reports a woman had been found with serious injuries.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, attended and despite treatment, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man was arrested in the Warwickshire area yesterday on suspicion of murder and was brought back to Norfolk this afternoon for questioning.

A Home Office post mortem examination which took place this morning (Saturday 20 June) established stab wounds to have caused her death.

The police continue to support the victim’s family.

Enquiries have led officers to believe that this is an isolated incident where the victim and suspect are known to one another.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a male and female walking in the vicinity of Thorpe Old Hospital yesterday afternoon.
