James Elliott

A man from Liverpool has been jailed for six years for supplying heroin and crack cocaine in Norwich.

James Elliott, aged 26 and from St Helens in Merseyside appeared at Norwich Crown Court today (Friday 19 July) following a previous hearing in which he pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, namely crack cocaine and heroin and possession of a shotgun without a certificate.

The court heard how officers attended an address in Bertie Road in Norwich on Wednesday 29 August 2018 where they were alerted to a loft hatch which had been disturbed. Following a search of the loft officers found a holdall containing a double barrelled shotgun. This was later examined and it was found to contain the fingerprints of James Elliott.

On Monday 11 March 2019 officers attended a hotel in the Riverside area of Norwich to arrest Elliott on suspicion of possession of a shotgun without a certificate but whilst there they found him with approximately £2,000 worth of Class A drugs, £3,500 in cash and mobile phones.

Analysis of the mobile phone later revealed it had sent and received multiple texts and calls in relation to the sale of crack cocaine and heroin.
