Norfolk County Council reacts to Highways England’s A47 announcement

Austerity does not apply to road-building schemes, it would appear, as £300 million is committed to road schemes. Norfolk County Council has welcomed today’s announcement from Highways England on its preferred routes for new dualled sections of the A47 – and urged the government company to provide further detail and progress the improvements as quickly as possible. Appeal after roadside assault, A47 Norwich

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a road rage incident on the outskirts of Norwich. It happened on the A47 between 6.30am and 6.40am on Wednesday (9 August 2017), near to the slip road with the A140, when two drivers, involved in a minor collision, pulled over. The victim, a man in his 50s who was driving a Landrover, was approached by the other driver and punched several times before being kicked while on the ground suffering facial injuries which required hospital treatment. Man charged in East Harling murder enquiry

A man from the Dereham area has been charged in connection with the murder of Peter Wrighton last weekend. 23-year-old Alexander Palmer, of Dereham Road, Bawdeswell, was today (Monday 14 August 2017) charged with murder following an investigation by the Joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team.
