Schools Go Creative And Premiere Their Own Operas In Norwich

NORFOLK SCHOOLS PROJECT – NOVEMBER 6 Three schools are set to harness their creative skill and premiere new operas on stage at Norwich Theatre Royal this winter. Pupils at Little Plumstead Primary School, Salhouse Primary School and Neatishead Primary School are using Madama Butterfly as the inspiration for their productions. Proposals to improve traffic flow in two busy areas of Norwich are now open for public comment and feedback. Both Dereham Road and the centre of Eaton and Cringleford are due for investment through Transport for Norwich, with Norfolk County Council and Norwich City Council calling for feedback on the details of the schemes. The aims of changes in Eaton and Cringleford include reducing traffic speeds to 20mph, installing traffic signals either side of Cringleford bridge that respond to the flow of traffic in each direction, and simplifying pedestrian crossings in the centre of Eaton. NNUH holds inaugural Inspirational Fundraising Awards

The Norfolk and Norfolk University Hospital has just held its first annual Fundraising Awards. The Inspirational Fundraising Awards were set up to honour the hard work and contribution of community fundraisers who support the hospital charity. Six awards were presented, including the Award for Outstanding Contribution to NNUH Fundraising which was won by the Norfolk and Norwich Liver Group. The group, which were also given the Silver Award in the Inspirational Fundraising Team of the Year category, have raised more than £27,000 this year in order to purchase a portable scanner for the hospital.
